Example – Family Skiing Holiday in Switzerland

To help understand how the luggage collection works, let’s take an example.

Let’s imagine a family arriving in Switzerland for a skiing holiday by plane from outside the country.

On arriving at Zurich Airport, they would find the luggage collection counter to drop off their luggage and ski equipment before 7pm.

While at Zurich Airport, the family can also pick up a travelerswifi.com pocket Wi-Fi device to give the whole family a reliable internet connection during their time in Switzerland.

When it’s time to leave, they can then have their luggage and skiing equipment collected from their hotel two days before they leave – they simply collect it from the luggage counter at Zurich Airport on the day of their flight before checking it in with the airline.

Special Luggage Promotion

For bookings made up to 30th April 2020, SBB is currently running a special promotion where the fees for luggage transportation within Switzerland and Liechtenstein are being waived.

This means that, as long as you have a valid rail ticket, you can have your luggage collection from an address in Switzerland or Liechtenstein and delivered to your holiday destination within the two countries free of charge.

At the end of your trip, you can then have your luggage sent back to an address in Switzerland or Liechtenstein – again, without needing to pay anything.

Check out the SBB website here for further details of this promotion.
